Beltrance’s first bodywork proposal for the Center-Hub-Steering MOTO2

center hub steering moto2 beltrance

Hi everyone!

As you probably know our Center Hub Steering Moto2 project continues. We’re closing the mechanical design and so we have to started with the bodywork design.

I’ve made the first 3D proposal but as it is an open design project everybody can send designs and people will choice. It’s just I quick draft that I’ll improve if there are no more ideas coming. Do you like it? Too heavy looking? Too complex?

At the moment there is only another design. What do you think about it?

If you’re interested in designing the bodywork for our race bike you can send me your ideas to and I’ll publish them in

I think that is a great opportunity to design something that is going to be built and that is going to have a lot of repercussion. Or simply because it’s a great pleasure to see your design running really fast! Please don’t worry if you don’t draw well or don’t know about 3D, we will help you with your design as much as we can.

And remember that you can also help with the mechanical design and the calculus.

Here there is a pic to use as underlay.

And now let’s have a strong coffee and let’s work!

Electric and Human Powered Aircrafts

This morning I was having breakfast with my coordinator when he gave me the EADS magazine, called FORUM. It was full of interesting news. Well, I don’t like to advertise any company but this paper was really interesting…

Continuing with electric vehicles, I want to talk about the CRI-CRI (not a beautiful name) The CRI-CRI is the first-ever four-engined all-electric aerobatic plane, and it flights! This minimal plane reaches 110 km\h among other incredible performances.

 Here is the original post.

Take a look also to this: Electric planes (Wikipedia)

But if you keep amazed by an electric aircraft maybe you don’t know about Human Powered Vehicles… There are planes that flight just pedalling. Like my loved Daedalus made by the MIT. And there are also attempts to human powered helicopters… and I prize if you can do it, the SIKORSKY PRIZE. Well, I must confess that one of my dreams and one scope of this web is to create a community interested in winning this prize. I’ve got a pair of good ideas… but I need a lot of help!

There have been some good attempts but no one has beaten it.

I recommend you read this article from Wikipedia about human powered aircrafts. If you follow the links and investigate a bit surely you’ll be amazed.

Here are some links and papers:

Well, you’ll need a strong coffee to assimilate all this information, but please never stop innovating!

Designing dreams
was a Myspace that once I opened. Perhaps I never returned to use it, perhaps once. When I thought seriously about beginning a blog I considered making something really different. The simply idea of writing messages and sending them in a bottle did not convince me. That´s the reason why I have created a meeting point where people interested in technology, design and engineering can participate. A gathering if you prefer it, where armed of talent, paper and pencil, ideas are shared. Where Open Design Projects will be proposed and we all will be able to collaborate with our work and our means to materialize them. Where published papers become a reference, creating therefore an innovating community.

It will have in addition a corner dedicated to Demonstener D1200R as star project and its more than probable continuation, as well as new exciting projects. read more »
